Saturday Hook and I spent the day fishing some areas on the Center flat. The first spot we fished we had large numbers of small perch in the area. At times we had 20-25 in view on the camera. The perch we were seeing are 4-5 inches in length only…….these small perch are great feed for the walleye. Its no wonder why they are not biting.

We saw only 2 walleye swim by in 6 hours of fishing. We came off the lake with a empty bucket

The reports are that the shallow rock reefs near shore are kicking out the best perch action with both numbers and the size. The walleye bite continues to be slow on the eastside of Mille Lacs. We are getting a little snow today, maybe that will change the bite?

Back to the rocks this week……

Any others have reports to add……….

Spent saturday night in one of fishers resort’s rentals about 3 miles off shore. The house was set up on a sand to mud break. Lots of small perch where present. 1 pout and 1 keeper perch.
The rock piles closer to shore are producing some nice perch and a few eyes. Stoped at three houses on one rock pile and each had a dozen or more nice perch for a day of fishing.
