Fished the rocky points, sand, and weeds on the west side every night. Weeds and sand didn’t reap any fish. While there was daylight the smallies were on fire in 10-13 ft on rocks( shad raps). Didn’t get out trolling on friday night (Wind) or saturday (stag party on launch trip I got one 17.5″ and a 22″). Sunday night was by far the best conditions and fishing. Caught eight keepers between 13″-18″. Through backs were 19″,20″,22″, 26″,and a 28.5″. All fish caught on a custom color scheme HJ-10. Monday was slower with a 16″,17″,20″, and 22″ Same lure same spots. Tuesday was pretty cold and windy (plus I had to work at 8 am wedsday) so I didn’t stay out past 9:30 pm but ended up with two fish at 13″, 17″. Water temps were between 52-54 degrees, and all walleyes caught in 6-9 ft. of water trolling at 1.5 to 2.0 mph. Hope fully I can get the pic of the 28.5″ on here soon. Digital camera wasn’t working but I got a pic on a disposable back up camera. Waiting eagerly for walgreens to develope.

P.S. The perch bite HAS NOT started. Fished Friday in Isle Bay and caught 5 perch that were between 5″-7″ in 4 hours of fishing. Stick to smallies in the day!!! Walleyes look very healthy!!

How is the water level this year? Any trouble getting in and out of The Red Door or public landing in Garison? 6 days till I am on the pond

Garrison is fine, at least the west access point. any of those public landings if you have a wind blowing into them you are in trouble as they are about 1.5-2ft going out. Shawbushkong is the same and even a little more shallow. If you have light winds you’ll be fine, I’m sure the resorts with the harbors are great, and if I’m not mistaken Red Door did some work on their “channel” getting out of the harbor to the first break…anyone know if they have the flags up again this year to mark the channel?

Our depth is just fine going out. We didn’t feel a need to mark the “channel” this year. Just idle straight out from the mouth of the harbor until your sonar says 4ft. and you should fine.

    Hope to see you! THANKS!

We will be staying at the Red Door in one of the new cabins. We plan to get into Isle about 8am Friday and do some perch fishing. We should be at the Red Door by noon or so and plan to stay until Sunday some time. Beer will be cold if you want to stop in.
