I got a report………………………….
Warm water… 72 degrees, fish are a slamming on the mud, corking deep. I fished friday night trolled for 5 hours NOTHING…..even tried the electric chicken.
Trolled from Browns point, St. Albans (the weeds do not look too bad right now), Pikes point. Garrison Bay, and Garrison Break…. Not even a pike or bass. It was really windy from the east thought for sure fish would be shallow but I think the water is still way too warm…I don’t know if this tells you anything but we were the only vehicle at the access.
I will be back at it again this weekend. they have to move in sometime…
September 21, 2009 at 5:11 pm #805454Thanks Cal. Think Ill be back up there this weekend giving it a shot. They need to move in sometime.
September 21, 2009 at 5:12 pm #805455I’ll be up next Sunday-Tues. Hopefully she cools down a little, but the forecast doesn’t look like any cooler weather.
September 21, 2009 at 5:47 pm #805459I trolled out there on Saturday. I had water temps of 67-69. During the daylight we trolled between some Northern mud flats and caught some nice jumbos and fish for the box. We had a few overs too. We also fished 23-27 ft. for an hour right at dusk on the North end and picked up a few more. We never did the night thing because we forgot the headlamps.

Shhhhhh
Not the Electric Chicken!
Thanks for the reports. At least the high are coming down to the low 70’s and 50’s at night. Hoepfully that will at least get the water temps into the 60’s.

September 21, 2009 at 8:45 pm #805486I’ll be up Sat. fishing the basin durning the day and plan to run the shallows until about 2:00 AM.
I’ll throw up a report on Sunday or Monday after I wake up I don’t anticipate much from the night bite yet but you never know until you try –corey-studerPosts: 423September 21, 2009 at 9:10 pm #805492I made it up yesterday afternoon with the hopes of doing some trolling. However, the wind, waves and overcast made me go to the rocks corking and did pretty good. We fished 3-mile reef 4-7 fow with leeches and minnows. I also caught a few on #4 Hornets casting the reef. We ended up with our eight fish limit (14-17 inch fish). However, the majority of the fish were 11-13 inches and the biggest was the 17 incher.
September 22, 2009 at 2:20 am #805581Similar – went out west side Friday – 4 keepers one too big.
Sat -put on over 35 miles – 1 fish all day – some smallies at dusk for eyes.
Sun – 1 eye, 1 perch
No concentration at all….. Maybe full moon???

Looks like it may be a little wet out this weekend.
and breezey on sun
September 24, 2009 at 12:33 pm #806216Wind may not be a bad thing if we have cooler weather to mix up the water and drop the temp faster.
