I am planning on heading up to the pond this weekend and I’m curious what the recent warm temps may have done to the ice? How thick is the ice? Is there much for vehicle traffic out there yet?

I have been driving on lake since 12/18. There was a lot of water on the ice this weekend and it made driving a little iffy. The water is not gone and the lake is froze up good. There is little to no snow on the ice, but we did get a little last night.

As for ice, we are kind of holding at 14 inches but we should be making a little more the next few days.

    The fishing remains good

Thanks Scott… do you think the ice will be okay for driving by the weekend? Just trying to plan ahead. Thanks!

We have been driving on since 12/18, I don’t see any reason we won’t still be driving on this weekend

We drive to some areas, but we take ATVs to others. Many resorts are letting vehicles out, but other resorts are dealing with cracks and shifting ice.

We got enough snow to bank small houses last night. The east side ice is getting better after the weekends thaw. We had a vehicle go through up by Wilderness Resort and a Four Wheeler go through the crack south of Hunters Point. Be sure and check with the local resorts before driving out, most have roads marked. The mishaps that have occurred over here were from people heading cross country and not knowing or checking the ice conditions.
