Hunters Point Resort has a truck out on the lake today. Looks to be out about a mile. He may of drove 2 miles to get out that far with all the ice dams to drive around, but the ice thickness is getting there. He’s starting to mark roads.

George at Hunters Point started pulling out a few houses this afternoon!!!!!!!

This picture was taken out on the reef south of Lakeside 3/4 mile bar. The lake truck is plowing the ice ridges down trying to make a road? The ice on the eastside of Mille Lacs is pretty bad in some places.

That wind sure can create havoc on a business like this!
I wish him the best of luck and safety!

    Hook,
How many open areas are there still on the lake?

LOL, yes you have to look twice. There is a lot of that on the lake. A guy hits the breaks pretty fast on the 4 wheeler when you see that in front of you.

I don’t know Bob………the way guys talk about you, you just MIGHT be walkin’ on water! That rippling…………..I’d panic on an ATV too!

Is that caused from an area left open from the early ice shifts…………….refreezing as it’s able? It’s such a drastic change compared to the Arctic circle terrain further back!

Just a quick update on the lake conditions. Friday afternoon we did have some trouble with a crack near shore. The warm temperatures caused the ice to expand and push up the ice break and flood the crack. Hunters Point did have the people on the lake remove all the cars and trucks as a precaution. Saturday the lake flooded with the light rain showers in the area. Today we have temps near the freezing mark and winds around 20 mph. I plan to let this water on the ice to freeze and get back out Monday sometime. The walleye bite continues to be on the slow side. I have heard of some reports from the southend gravel starting to pickup!
