    A cloudless spring day is a great opportunity to watch the ice retreating on Mille Lacs. This shot is just a couple hours old.

    Google Earth, usually has older, and not recent photos.

    Here’s the morning shot from 4/23. The afternoon shot has some clouds along the north and west ends of the lake, but it’s clear that the ice is taking a beating today.
