In my perfect little world there will be no tribes, no reservations, no soverien nations inside the borders of the United States. Everyone will follow the same law and be treated equal. We will get there some day…..

Well Jon, keep in mind it was our ancestors that invaded the Indian’s lands and took it over, so if all things were to be made fair, we would all be living in their country, and by their laws, not the other way around.

I always thought when you won the war they had to live by our rules Im sure we would have been treated much better had they won.Like being buried to your neck in sand out in the desert Im getting a little tired of kicking peoples a$$es then going back and rebuiling them and making them payments for the rest of their lives while they do nothing but complain. And you wonder why this country is going to hell How long are we going to pay for the Iraq war while they are selling billions of dollars of oil to someone else?

    Jack,
Have they ever discussed milking all those walleyes taken by nets in the spring at these input groups?

Not mine! To me this is about EQUAL RIGHTS and EVERYONE in the USA following the same set of rules and laws. That is what this Former Great Nation was built upon. Also we need to adapt and do what is right for the Fishery.

Boo hoo Jack. Does this means we should also give the whole East Coast back to the British??? It also stated in the 1837 Treaty that the Indians were supposed to adapt and acclimatize to our Culture. I think 172 years is long enough.

Heck it only took me a few years to have adapt and acclimatized to everyone else’s culture, being politically correct and even though others are offending my way of life, I can’t even think about offending theirs or others with out being a racist, pig, killer, or just a mean & cruel person in the eyes of “TODAYS SOCIETY”.

Again in the land of America where everyone is equal why do SOME people have special rules, laws and privileges??????

I think deep pockets from gambling revenues might help support their cause. And no I never, ever spend my money in these casinos but everytime I drive past the lot is pretty full.

You can say that again! I drove past the casino sunday evening on my way home and WOW, that casino parking lot was packed. They sure make a nice chunk of money in there!

Ended up finishing the walleye season with some nice fish. Fat 28.5″ (walleye) took top honors for the weekend.

Nice!! That’s a nice eye for Mille Lacs. Were you still seeing the big pods of perch or have they finally started to decrease?

Actually, there was a lot of little perch off the edges of the mud flat I was fishing on. What I do though is fish right on top of the flat where there is very few if any perch at all and that is where I caught all of my walleyes. The 28.5″ is my personal best through the ice on Mille Lacs and with out a doubt my heaviest for the pond. I have a 29.25″ in the open water season on Mille Lacs which is my longest fish on the pond.

I have a 30″ and a couple 29″s that were not caught on Mille Lacs as well. All of the above fish mentioned were released for another day.

The little perch during early ice seemed to be all concentrated in the bays of the lake, and there was few baitfish out on the mud flats. Now, as the season got later there were a lot more baitfish out and around on the mud flats as well. I’m expecting a better bite this open water season than last, but it’s not going to be gangbusters either.
