With a north wind, I would say going out of the northend is a wise choice Good luck and let us know how it goes I am heading this weekend for my first run

I was up there yesterday and the fishing slowed WAY down for me. By far my worst performance for the year. We still caught a few, but nothing like it was. Hopefully the fishing gets better by the time you arrive for your trip. I got a different game plan for my next trip. Good luck!

They are talking -45 windchills tomorrow and -25 to -30 on Wednesday and Thursday. The north end is hitting good though.I fished the west side flats on Saturday with only a few small ones in a few hours at dark.Sunday we hit the North end out of the Door and did pretty well.It took mobility to stay on the active fish.Inside turns and points have been good for me.Good Luck

    Stay warm.

You want to put off your trip for a while??

    Tuesday
Increasing clouds. Highs 4 below to 9 below zero. West winds around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Wind chill readings 35 below to 45 below zero in the morning.

    Tuesday Night
Cloudy. Snow likely in the evening…then a chance of snow after midnight. Snow accumulation of 2 to 3 inches. Lows 11 below to 16 below zero. East winds 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast 10 to 15 mph early in the morning. Chance of snow 60 percent. Wind chill readings 25 below to 35 below zero.

    Wednesday
Decreasing clouds. Highs 3 below to 2 above zero. North winds 10 to 20 mph. Wind chill readings 30 below to 40 below zero.

    Wednesday Night
Mostly clear. Lows 20 below to 25 below zero. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Wind chill readings 30 below to 40 below zero.

These are down right NASTY temps/winds…especially on a lake like Mille, etc…big lakes turn dangerous in those temps/wind. Good luck! I know I’d be canceling and planning a different trip.

Be careful if its your first ever trip. Its not really a “pond” like everyone says. The Gales of January are nasty

ive never had any luck fishing the pond when a cold front comes through. I agree with Matt, it gets nasty out there especially when the wind blows and you cant see anything. Make sure to bring a gps, and from some of the guys ive talked too they are having problems with moving around with wheelers due to the snow

She’s a dirty old witch who has run me off the lake more than once. Although, I tend to head for formica flats when she shows up.

Theres still big ones at Formica Flat, but Gale can’t make it through the door.
