    We had 18 degrees this morning, after dumping 5 inches of snow into the lake yesterday to cool things down fast.

    Fishing reports to come later in the week. We’re hearing-2 to 5 ft. trolling #7 or #9 shallow shadraps in crome combo colors, very early in the mornings is the best. 4 am. until daylight.

    Might seem like a dumd question but………….

    Do you have a pay ramp there? Or can you launch only with a motel room rental?

    Brian they do have a pay ramp even if not staying there. Some guys were doing just this last weekend. Great protected harbor and good ramp.

    There is not a resort ramp on the lake that won’t take your money to use. At least none that i’m aware of…. The going rate is 10 bucks and in most cases well worth it!

    Mr. Hoffies,

    Yes, our ramp is open to all, lodging guests as well as the general public off the road.

    Sometimes at this time of year, our office might be closed at a time when some of you want to use the launching ramp. Please feel free to use it, even if you have no one in place to pay. If it’s late at night or ??, don’t worry about it! If we’re not here, it’s on us and we hope you have a great day!!

    The warm temps have allowed a few fishermen out this week. We haven’t heard much in the way of walleye reports but have heard of consistent muskie action on the reefs around the lake. Many of the fish caught have tipped the scales around 40lbs. or more. Reports of snagging tullibees while casting are very common also.

    The deer opener in our area was fair. Guests of ours had several bucks and does hanging in the pole barn or in the fish house park last weekend, including a couple spikes, a fork horn, 7pt. and two 8pt.

    The weather looks good for the coming weekend and into next week for both fishing and hunting. THANK YOU to everyone who stayed with us this past week!
