I’ll be there for 5 nights starting Thursday night. I’m anticipating a darn good bite!
November 4, 2003 at 5:02 pm #280726Oh yeah!!
Water temps in the high 30’s/low 40’s + Nov Full moon =pittmdPosts: 181November 4, 2003 at 8:47 pm #280758What kind of gear do you wear while fishing in that kind of weather?
jhalfenPosts: 4179November 4, 2003 at 8:48 pm #280759I’ll be a guest in ~H2O~’s boat on Friday night. My wife tells me that it takes a “special kind of stupid” to go out in weather like we’re expecting…..I guess that just makes us all special, now doesn’t it.

These forcasts will change hourly, and they are getting even colder. Friday nite low of 10 degrees. Burr! Saturday looks better.
Weather for Isle, Mn….
Thursday 11/6
Very cold with clouds and sun
High 26° F / Low 11° FFriday 11/7
Clouds and sun; breezy, cold
High 21° F / Low 10° FSaturday 11/8
Cold with clouds and sun
High 31° F / Low 19° FI dress like I ‘m headed out ice fishing. I have a cold weather Parka/Bibs from Columbia called the Quad Parka. Good stuff designed for waterfowlers. Sorel boots, cap, gloves, choppers, and a couple dry towels for the hands.
This year I’m going with a new set of Insulated Cabela’s Guidewear.
Here is a shot from last year (Wearing the Columbia Stuff) on the Oct Full Moon on Milly as the snow started to accumulate in the boat. Not in the teens, but it was a chilly night!

scookPosts: 7November 4, 2003 at 9:39 pm #280769I have a 4 day weekend to ensure at least some fishable weather. My personal best Walleye came from a November full moon. The only other fish we caught that night was just shy of 10 lbs. I dress like I’m ice fishing and work hard at protecting my hands. Handwarmer packs reduce the suffering when the action is slow and activity level is low.
November 4, 2003 at 11:35 pm #280785I’m like Jon…. last year I was relegated to duck gear. This year I bought some Guidewear myself… and haven’t looked back.
I also get a couple Thermacare wrps… and stick one on my chest on the outside on my first layer on long undies. They work great.November 5, 2003 at 12:13 am #280790Yep, I’ll be in the deer stand shooting the “Big Guy”
fishing—-after the hunt I’ll have a FEW cold beers and I’ll be in bed under the electric blanket only dreaming about maybe fishing……..
James I could put you in a deer stand Saturday morning!!!!any interest? You are pretty good at running with very little sleep!!!!!!! How about it????November 5, 2003 at 12:18 am #280791Heck James has the best Deer stand of all, he just has to sleep on the couch with the window open. When one walks by the back door plug it! LOL
Does and Fawns, Does and Fawns, BANG BANG BANG, BANG BANG BANGNovember 5, 2003 at 12:48 am #280797Hey Hook, remember I shot my buck last year right behind your cabin! knowing james…….he’d get a nice buck….
November 5, 2003 at 1:05 am #280800Just a thought here guy’s………I would bring some sand along this weekend. We just recieved 4-5 inches of snow and the Mille Lacs shoreline has some ice on the rocks. I’m thinking that some may have trouble on the boat ramps? I have seen some guys have trouble pulling out with even 4 wheel drive.
Just some thoughts here
November 5, 2003 at 3:10 am #280807Keep us updated on the ice, Bob! I’d be real interested how the access at the Wharf looks on Friday. I would not be surprised if it were froze in.
I’d also be interested in the wind. Speed, direction, wind chill.

November 5, 2003 at 12:31 pm #280847will do……..my harbor at home is starting to freeze along the edges. The ramps will be a challenge…..
It’s cold and windy out today!
