Spent this past weekend fishing mostly north flats. Fished the northeast sand and gravel a little but those fish seemed to have moved on. There is a few areas giving up some decent slot fish, few and far between.
If you want to catch nice fish and practice a little CPR, head out to the north flats! Rigging large to jumbo leeches in 27 to 32 FOW working the edges with a bottom bouncer at .5 MPH, no need for finesse style as the fish out there are inhaling the offering. Norman at the Cenex in Malmo has a ample supply of good size leeches for you, make sure you tell him Joe sent you.
Saturday evening bobber bite was very good fishing with armada of boats on Agate Reef, that seems to be the way to get slot fish if your looking for a meal.
Hopefully the fish fly hatch will be done soon. Sunday morning was miserable with no wind and bugs covering us and the boat, but we were able to stick it out for a couple of hours and land 7 too big and 4 slots. Time to scrub the bug poop off the boat.
Good Luck, JC
P.S. photos to follow as soon as I figure out why I can’t post them!
