I fished Mille Lacs yesterday for the first time. Due to the very strong North/Northwest winds we were forced to fish the North End Rocks/Sand. The fishing was fair I would say. The fish that bit really slammed it. For the afternoon we managed to keep 3 just under 18 inches and caught one over. I left the lake as the bobber fisherman were all coming out. The fish were much deeper than I would have imagined. Water temps were around 49 degrees when I left the lake. Most of the fish were in 17-20ft of water. There is a ton of bait in the lake already, which will make the bite tough as it gets later in the year.

Snells and leeches produced all the fish. The fishing outlook for this weekend looks really good for those heading out. I found fish in almost every spot I stopped. Most spots produced a couple fish/misses and then it was done, off to the next spot. The wind made it very hard to stay after active fish, but we did get a meal
