Staying at McQuoids from the 15-18th and was wondering if anyone had any tips on where to fish for muskies? Normally fish out of the Red Door but decided we wanted to try the South side. Will also fish walleye and smallies.
Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

The NE corner of Rocky Reef has been loaded with muskies as has the shallow rocks off Browns. On calm days (anybody remember the last time we had a calm day?) you can see them in the shallow water right up on top of the reef.

Question: If you have one continuous run of cold fronts, one after another… is it really even a cold “front” any more? At some point it’s just continually cold. No front. No back. Brrrr! The only plus side is it would be pretty hard to find a mosquito to buzz in my ear right about now!

    NPC,

Be sure to keep an eye on Hennepin Island this time of year if you visit the south end. This little island has alot to offer the muskies. Look to the NW corner of this reef. It has a nice shallow shelf that comes out aways and then the south side drops real quick down to 25+ feet. A few years ago, we saw 3 muskies at one time working after our topwaters as we were fishing smallies in late September/ early Oct.

    Good Luck
