I’ll blow your…….
As Derek reported the wind was a steady 15-25 out of the north-northwest from the time I arrived Friday afternoon till Sunday AM (When they say 15-25 I think they mean to add the two together for a constant 40 MPH) The “Power Loon” described it as “Breezy” Well, that breeze kept me off the lake Friday nite and all day Saturday. Even as the wind layed down on Sunday, there were still 3+ footers on the east side. There were a few gusts that had the ol’ camper a rocking!
I managed to get in a few hours of quality time trolling the rock shoreline around Big Point. The first fish of the morning was this fat 28.5 incher that smacked a #5 shad rap. (Also see video clip)

I had been trolling a Super Rouge for about an hour without any takers. Thinking I would downsize to see if I could get any of the jumbo perch to bite, I had just switched to a #5 Craw Shad Rap. No sooner than I clicked the bail shut, she hit hard.
I caught 3 more fish ranging from 19-23 inches yesterday morning. Averaging one fish about every 1/2 hour. I managed to get one of those hits recorded (See video clip) while screwing around with the camera.

Water temp was a 51.0 degrees Sunday AM as the sun was coming up and was 53.7 as I left the lake shortly before noon.
Listening to the VHF it certainly sounded like the guys who got out were putting fish in the boat. Things are setting up nicely for the next several weeks on the big lake. Spots all around the lake appear to be turning on!!
