When wiring the new Lowrance units the GPS module has to be powered. The instructions say to install a switch to shut it off. What have you guys done to take care of this?

Just your basic waterproof toogle switch, or wire it to your main cut-off power switch. The reason is that it always pull power and will cause you to run down your battery.

The power to my Puck is run to a extra Accessory Switch at the console. If you don’t run it through an on/off switch it will drain your battery of time.

Also, make sure to put a fuse in-line after the switch.

Fuse should be on the battery side of the switch.

Do both! In other words, your switch pannel will be fused. Run another in-line fuse after the switch.
