Our lakeside bouy never got put out this year. I don’t know about the rest of the lake.

It seems like they usually pull them around October 1. I use the Casino public ramp a lot and it is very shallow out from the launch… especially if you stray to the right or left of the channel markers. It always seems to me they pull ’em too early.

As long as I’m on the subject, the light at that ramp hasn’t worked for over a year now. It is one of the busiest ramps on the lake but they haven’t found the time (or money?) to change a light bulb in over a year. Plus, I’ve heard lots of stories of theft at that ramp. You’d think they’d make it a priority to light it up better (or at ALL!).

I launched out of the south end last weekend and all the reef buoys were still in. If I remember correctly, its usually the first week in October that they pull a couple buoys off each reef and leave one or two on each larger reef and then a week or two later, they take them all out.

The Indian Point access has had its share of vandalism there over the years and I am unfortunately victim of this several times as well. I agree that there should be better lighting there. I would even think that the insurance companies would help foot the bill for better survellance here with all the claims they see every year.

I was out over the weekend and noticed that some of the bouyos have been removed around Cove bay. They mark some of the large/Shallower spots but not the whole reef.
