Mille Lacs sumo caught and released 2/22/08……
Jason pictured above with the fish woke up Saturday morning to the sound of a rattle reel which we all live for on the pound.. 
…. so he sets the hook and its obviously heavy so it takes a bit to get up to the hole and to our amazement there are TWO fish coming up at the same time….. 1 #10 Eye and 1 12-14″ Eeelpout….. basically what happened was the Eelpout took Jason’s Minnow and the Eye slammed the Eelpout which was then ejected out the gills of the Eye and both fish were landed……the picture is kind of blurry but that is the Eelpout on the right of the picture just above the water bottles if you look close you can see the line is still running from the Eelpout through the Eyes gills up to Jason’s hand>
So not knowing what the actual regulations where pertaining to legally landing the fish we figured it was leagal the line was cut between the 2 fish and the trophy Eye was released unharmed 
he’s thinking replica at this point!
