Same story as everyone else lots of 24-26 inch fish, but hopefully no one else has the same ending. Didn’t get a lot of pictures, too busy catching fish. Went out of the Casino launch and it is very shallow but it can be made. I would recommend using you bow mount so you can steer the front if windy. 1st night 2 guys 40 fish. 2cd night 42 fish. Both nights ended with the Lake being eerily calm. 3rd night a whole different story. Greeted with 25mph wind at the launch it was intense getting to our spot. I believe the clouds made the difference. #12 Clown HJ’s and Lazer Craw rogues at 1.2mph were they only lures we had to try. Ripping through the top the weeds was definetely the key. The first 3 1/2 hours are unreal, 54 fish in that short time, then it happens. All I hear is **** and look to see a #4 Triple Grip hook buried in my buddies thumb. Numbed in the lake and a beer couldn’t do enough to take it out.
So off the lake and to Mayo for removal. KEEP ALL FINGERS AWAY FROM HOOKS! Always use pliers. It’s going to be a long year of wait, thinking of how many fish were left in that area.

Thats 54 fish in 3.5 hours or a fish every 3.8 minutes in 25 mph wind….Nice Job

We actually were fishing in a bay that the wind was blowing over so we were not affected much. You actually could not put your rod in the holder to net a fish without the drag screaming. Once in a lifetime, wish we could have fished all night. There were constant flashes from the other 2 boats around us, so I’m sure they did as good as us.

I took one in the thumb a couple weeks back in the exact same spot. Down to the bone. Went to Aitken clinic and the simple braid line and pull method popped it right out. Good to know for future reference on the water. Did they use the same technique to get your hook out?

    good report!

The hook in the finger sucks… the heavy line with a loop works well to pull any hook out. I dont care if its a #10, or a 10/0.

There is a post somewhere with instructions(pictures) showing you how to do it.

All you need is a section of line, put a loop on the end and put the loop over the hook. Press the eye in to your skin as far as you can, and have someone tug the line with the loop(pulling hook out backwards). It works like a charm and wont tear the victim up. Its quick and painless.. unlike the ER doctors that tend to start cutting everything to get the hook out which sometimes even results in surgery later to reconnect tendons(happened to a friend )

The hook actually went under the nail and could only be removed by slicing around it and then a few stitches. We tried the line trick but couldn’t get it to pop out.
