What else can be said about Mille Lacs at night?

Lots of good Mille Lacs chatter going on lately. These are some of our better fish from the recent weekend. 2 big eyes here are 28 and 26.5, big pike (daytime) was 36, and that tank smallie was 20.5.

These were all weed and rock fish from the west side and the northwest corner. Slower speeds (less than 1.5), S-turns and pumping the rod were the keys for us. I should have left 95% of my crankbait collection at home as 6 patterns accounted for all of our fish: rogues, bent lip shads, and a couple of select husky jerks were all we needed.

    Nice job, looks like fun!

Always a good time when you get to sort through the “rough” fish to get a smallie like that!

Glad you are getting to enjoy – nice job.

Too bad you got your hands slimy with the green ones though. I was fourtunate enough to have Tuck and LeRoy eliminate those before my bait got throught the zone!
