    Hey Everyone,

I’ve heard a few people mention that they’re chasing perch before they make their evening walleye runs. Where would a guy find the perch this time of year?? I’m not looking for anyone to give up their spots and I’m all about paying my dues, but does anyone have any basic tips they could give me? Appreciate it!

    Thanks! Steve

I key on rocks – look for rocky points extending from shore that are 2 to 4ft deep with deeper water close by. Helps if you have a bottom transition to sand with weed edge. I am not talking about huge structure either. In my best spots for jumbos the rock bars extend maybe 50ft out to the lake and are surrounded by 8 to 10ft depths. You need to stay mobile.

Thanks for the help guys! I’m hoping to get out this coming Saturday and would like to spend most of the day up there. Chasing some perch will help us “kill time” until the sun starts to set…

    Thanks again!
