This morning when I left the house at Mille Lacs the temp was 59 degrees and the winds were steady out of the northwest, even put on a coat.
Hopefully this will bring the water temps down quickly. Will post water temp tomorrow.

The reports I heard last week from some people where that a few fish are moving into the shallow rocks. This will help bring a few more. I will be out evenings to see if this is the case. Have a good long weekend all.

Was out fishing on Sat.chasing smallies and I thought some people would be interested in some water temps. In the Morning, the water temps was around 69. and then by mid afternoon the highest temp we saw was 71.

Monday morning I was out at 3:30 am and the water temps were 71.2 degrees. I fished from 5 – 20 ft. of water and had the same temps everywhere. With no wind to speak of the shoreline rocks weren’t going.

Been doing it for over 20 years. It doesn’t neccessarily need to be a full moon either, it’s easier to launch and navigate by the bright moon. The other thing is statistically speaking, from an old in-fish article, 75% of all record book fish were caught 3 days either side of the full moon, and 1 day either side of no moon. Must have something to do with the lunar gravitational pull or something??? Just guessing.
There are probably hundreds of theories out there!
You need to try it to believe it, it’s a riot!!!
Scott, there’s a good night bite on alot of those sterns county lakes too! All fall long.
