Tough Go

Boy I hope you guys had better luck than we did. Did trollilng runs on Friday night with two good buddies of mine. We landed 5 eyes in about 5 to 6 hours. Saturday morning they left and two other buddies rolled in. This night we only landed 3 eyes. We just never could find fish grouped together either night. The water temp is still about 60 so the best is for sure yet to come. The heat and lack of moon light really made it a tough bite for us. Anybody else do any good? Biggest of the weekend was 26 incher.

Hopefully the cold weather will drop that water temp down this week. Looking forward to next weekend already.

It was a tough go for us also. Managed about 10 fish each night. Cold weather I think would help the bite out. I was nice to fish saturday night in light winds.

We got 10 eyes between two guys Friday night on the northwest side in 5 hours. The weeds sure thinned out in this area which is helping setup some good trolling runs. Biggest was a fat 26 1/2″ and they all came on dark colored shallow shad raps (craw) or dark colored (hot tamale) Reef Runners. We were the only boat out in this area which was really nice but the winds made boat control a full time job. Water temps on this side were 58-59 degrees. It won’t be long for the good bite with the cooler nightime temps around the corner. We did get the first fall double with two 26″ fish coming into the boat. Also the fish didn’t seem to be hitting the lures as hard as the other night but it might have to do with the lack of available moonlight to track the lures.

We fished Saturday evening in the SE corner. Slow going as well. We only boated 5 fish, with the biggest being 24″. Water temps were 60-61 degrees. Hopefully things cool down in a hurry. Firetiger HJ’s caught all the fish..

We had a hard time Friday night. Fished for 4.5 hours and boated a 16.5″ and a 25.5″. I was switching baits often and both fish came on a lazer craw Roge(sp?).

Looks like highs in the 50’s and lows in the 30’s all week.

Anyone going to be out during the week? Wonder how long it will take to get the fish going again.

Most likely tomorrow night and Saturday for me…

I’m getting a little tired of fighting the wind though.

I would love to see a calm night for a change.

West side and rocks very productive. Just repeat waves are my friend 100 times! I just wish my computer monitor would quit bobbing
