Me, a buddy of mine, his brother and uncle took our first trip to mille lac last weekend. We stayed at agate bay resort and it was a pretty fun trip. Not having much knowledge about the lake made for an intersting few days. We fished a couple of the flats- boot and blue jug. also some of the reefs. The first couple of days were pretty windy but monday ended up being pretty calm and really hot. we tried lots of dif presentations- snells with leeches, trolling crankbaits, slip bobbers and jigs. We ended up catchin about five walleyes, one that was in the slot, and the biggest was 25, and a few smallies and some nice perch. It could have been better but im happy with it bein the first time there. We saw a few dead walleyes and a huge musky floating-prolly about 50 in. Also had an interesting experience with a loon, it was hanging around the boat and would swim right underneath the boat and come up right next to us.

Shawn, those are some nice fish. We have been catching some nice eyes all season. Now that you got your first trip under your belt, I’m sure you’ll have lots more. It is a great lake. I’m up there almost every weekend, as I have a house at Barnacle Bills on the north end of the lake if you want hook up for a trip sometime.

Nice job Shaun and thanks for the report! Looks like you and your buddies had fun and that’s what it’s all about!
