I spoke with Rick Bruesewitz this morning. Heres whats going to happen.

The total harvest data will be processed by this Sat June 30th. If we are at or under 365,000 pounds, the slot will remain the same and the slot will increase to 22 inches on July 15th.

If we are over 365,000 pounds, the slot will reduce to 14-16 and another count will be conducted on Aug 15th.

If the slot does go to 14-16 inches, there will be an announcement between the days of July 1st and July 6th.

The new slot will go into effect 5 days from the day of the announcement.

The announcement will be made on the DNR website.

It would be nice to keep it as it is now and NOT increase it to 22″ in July.

With the bite slowing, this might be good news. Fish below 20″ have been harder for the masses to find. Even given hooking mortality, the numbers over the last couple weeks and upcoming week will likely be much lower than the previous month

That came up during my talk with Rick. The bite has slowed considerably in the last two weeks.. If I was a betting man, I would say we will not be over 365,000
