Why are you posting a roll call when you don’t know what the slot is going to be and if they are going to even going to have it?

The tourney will go on regardless of the slot.

I don’t believe so. I think with a 14 -16 slot Fred will cancel it.

I spoke with Fred this morning. Tourney will go on as planned even if the slot changes..

How much do you think will be added to the mortality rate trying to catch a limit of 14-16″ fish

Derek, I was going to sign up until I saw you were in it.

    I guess $5000 for second isn’t bad.

They wouldnt’t allow this slot if it was going to hurt the fishery to an extreme correct? If you have a problem with it don’t fish it, there problem solved for ya, but for those of you that do fish it good luck! Work is not allowing me to get up there this year. Good Luck guys

I had a question that I put out there for a conversation. To see if there was a formula to figure that out since that is what the DNR does. No need to get a reply from someone who only looks out for their self interest, not the lakes.

Having the adjusted slot might change things. Do you plan on targeting big fish?

    Good luck out there,

New Slot=7/9. Red Door tourney is 7/7-7/8. Don’t want anyone getting confused.

Kold Front Kraig, If the lake is in such trouble, maybe we should look at Stop fishing tournaments and maybe stop fishing the lake all together. It’s raised questions in my mind after seeing a bunh of Dead fish after the Wacker, weather of not I’m hurting the lake.

Look at it this way. The DNR sets quotas. They then monitor, to the best of their abilities. Hitting the quota exactly, is the BEST thing for the lake and the fishery. Undershooting, or overshooting will technically “hurt” the lake. So to stop fishing the lake, would “hurt” it at this point. The DNR takes all things into account, when setting quotas, including other species in the lake. Alot of fsiherman on Mille Lacs only focus on Walleyes, but the DNR looks at the whole fishery. If the lake needs to be closed in the future, I will count on the DNR doing it, when it needs to happen. Reducing the slot limit, should slow down the limit fisherman from heading to Mille Lacs, and slow down their counts at the landings. Good luck everyone !!!
