It’s been a while since I’ve posted a report. The bite remains SUPER!! In the last few weeks I’ve had the opportunity to take out several different crews. Pulling spinners/BB on the gravel has been my go to presentation since opener, it just KEEPS PRODUCING. Talk about fun! I usually mix it up a little but when your on to something stick with it right. Although folks are catching fish all over the lake with many presentations from rigging to cranks, it’s just been HOT!! Fish have been from 8″ all the way to 28 1/2″. I hear those 8″ fish are one of the best hatches EVER on Mille!! The future looks GREAT!!
Last week it was a half day with PETE’S RETREAT owner Dennis Peterson and his two oldest boys, Will and Tom. This day was all about the kids, Dennis and I never touched a rod except to bait the hooks. The boys boated about 15 fish in 3 hours 
and lost just as many. It was great day to spend with company like that! If your looking for a PREMIER campground just off the water, PETE’S RETREAT in Malmo is it! Great campground, great owners!! Last Thu. and Fri. was a trip with a good friend, Larry and his daughter Kayla, what a trooper Kayla is!! That little girl would sit in a boat all day long. A little fishing talk, a little “My little pony” talk and a whole lot of fish makes for a great day! BTW “Pinky Pie” is my favorite! 
These 2 days produced many fish with a over 28″ each day! 
Larry got one on Thu. I got one on Fri.! Awesome! Kayla’s biggest was a 25″! What a great time! Did I mention Kayla also enjoys duck, pheasant and deer hunting!! 
She’s a self admitted “Tom boy”…and since “pinky pie” is my favorite “My little pony”! I’m not to macho to admit we came to the conclusion I’m the opposite of tom boy! 
What a great kid!
Sat. and Sun. was for mom, dad and Ingrid. Happy fathers day! 
We continued to pull spinners on the gravel. Although this weekend I decided to put 3oz BB/spinners on the front rods and 1 1/2 oz. off the back rods. The back rods I rigged with a 10′ mono leader and thundersticks, I must say it was a great decision as the thundersticks produced very well, they caught just as many fish as the spinners! Fri. my mom was lucky enough to latch in to a tail pinched 28″! Three days straight with over 28″ fish…what more can we ask for?? Way to go MOM!! Again boated a bunch on fish, it seemed someone was always hooked up. We only had a few lulls in the action. Mille Lacs is a incredible fishery, enjoy it!!
