    Howdy,

I’ll be staying North of the Pond next week (Spirit Lake) and plan to get out on Mille Lacs…Are there any public accesses on the North side that have any water in them, or would I be better off using a resort like the Red Door or maybe run down to Terry’s?

    Thanks

I recommend the resort route… unless you are farther west towards Garrison (not sure about thos PA’s). Malmo and Wealthwood are pretty much un-usable.

    Hey Rootski,

I went out of the Public access by Pikes point last week without any problems. The ramps are a little steep but I don’t think you’ll have a problem.

    Thanks guys…

Walzer I was thinking about you today. I was on pool 2 for the last 6 or 8 hours. Lots of Bass, no Walleyes, there’s a surprise

The garrison landing is pretty good. When you load your boat, keep the motor as far up because if you go off to the side you’ll get some nice dings.

Thanks Rootski, I haven’t been on Pool 2 since early March. I’ve been on the Croix and Mille Lacs lately. I’ll be up on Mille Lacs this weekend and the following weekend as well. Let me know how you do up there.

don’t use the township access at bay view. they did pour a new ramp this spring and it looks real nice. the problem is, the edge of the ramp that is under the water is 8 inches higher than the sand. you have to drop the tires off of the ramp to launch/retrieve the boat and when pulling the boat back out, you have to give it a good goose to pop the tires back up on the ramp. people are breaking their axels or pushing the axel back, way out of alignment……………tom fellegy
