Can anyone give me reports on what ramps are available both public or private that are safe for launching because of the low water? I’ll be up there for the first time next week staying on the north shore. Thanks!

Although most ramps are usable, these are in good shape for larger boats.

North end: Fisher’s Resort and Terry’s Boat Harbor.

East Side: Mac’s Twin Bay Resort.

Avoid the Wealthwood public access as I used it on Wednesday and I had to back my truck down 100′ into the water and should have gone further…
VERY shallow. If you have a lighter boat you may be okay…RR

The Red Door Resort has real shallow water just outside of their harbor entrance. Motor bottomed out on the sand. I’d avoid that one also.

We tried using the Cedar Creek ramp on the east side. Couldn’t get the boat off the bunks. Water too shallow. Plenty of guys with roller trialers dumped, but we were backing in the truck too far to the likings….. Went up the road to Fisherman’s Warf and launched there for $10 and had nice close parking.

Ditto on Red Door. Nice to have the harbor, even though it got too crowded sat, but it was very shallow sand outside the harbor. Waves and wind add to the problem.

If you have your heart set on the north end give Barnaveld’s a try, great people and a nice harbor, we hit 2.4 FOW real quick and didn’t drag any sand.

I drive a 1800 Starcraft Pro Elite, 18′ and a 175 merc, she is plenty heavy, but don’t know how it compares in weight to a Ranger. They may have done some fresh dredging, which can refill after time.

Wealthwood… almost unusable; Malmo… ditto; Cedar Creek… ditto; Isle… better, but tricky; Casino… very tricky outside the protected harbor mouth; Red Door… I had good luck there but do agree it gets fairly shallow outside the harbor entrance. There are the ramps I have first-hand knowledge of.

Castaway’s launch is fine, gets a little shallow motoring out, but didn’t dredge any sand. 18ft Lund Explorer.

Thanks to everyone who has posted. I appreciate the up to date info-the whole idea was not to put the Lund into the rocks.I hope this will help others also.
