Day tripping this week and was hoping guys could chime in on what they saw. I would like to hear info from both public and resort accesses. Launching a Ranger so let us know if a big rig is a no go, out from the access as well.

There was a whole slug of boats out of Red Door on Saturday, and I think they were all ok. Doc’s harbor might be a tad shallow, Barnaveld’s went real well (between Doc’ and Red Door). Don’t even attempt Weathwood public landing. That’s all I know about the north end.

launched out of the south end Dan at Walleye Dundees in Wahkon and it was totally fine. you may have to get the truck tires wet as the landing itself is not terribly steep but once we were in, it’s all sand all the way out and 3-4ft until you get out in the bay where it gets deeper. I have a 17ft Tuffy for comparison. Good luck, I may try to get out this week as well on Thursday. When are you heading up and where do you plan on fishing?

i put a ranger 620 in at cove bay access and i barely made it. probably by 2″. the wash out from power loading is the hang up (last fall i could not use that landing). i took it out at izatys. izatys is $20.00 but deep enough and protected from the wind if it comes up. good luck.

With the wind out of the NNW @ 15 on Wednesday we were thinking of Carlsona. The wind on Thursday is going to be is a little lighter SSW @ 11. Haven’t nailed down for sure what day but we are leaning towards Wednesday.

I wouldn’t recommend Cedar Creek for any boats bigger than 17 feet.

Terry’s is great for landing all types of boats…Only thing is that the loose rocks around the access when pulling out tend to fly if your tires spin. I seen a few rocks hit a boat when he was spinning his tires like mad trying to pull his tub out of the water!!!

    $10 bucks!

Fisher’s was in good shape for launching a 620. Saw several go out. they also dredged out a chanel to the main lake.

    Fishing was good.

I launched my Skeeter ZX2050 at a buddys place, but opted not to bring it back in there. Instead, I pulled it out at the public landing on the east side near the casino (not sure of the name) CAUTION!!!!! When coming into the landing, there are 2 boyies out in the lake…DO NOT come into them at a 45….they need to move them out further or get another set. I was just putting along when all of the sudden I hear this grinding….took me by surprise, but I was in 2′ of water and my prop was in the sand/rock. I added some character to my NEW SS prop …not that bad, fortunately they were small rocks.!!! Other than that, the launch is in good shape, plenty deep…just come in and go out WAY beyond the markers!!!!

So basically none of thye PA’s are useable from Isle to Wealthwood going around the east side? How about either Garrison accesses?

There were a lot of truck/trailers in the Malmo parking lot.

My son and I launched out of Malmo. 16′ with rollers. Trailer was above water had to roll off. I helped a few people, but some could not make it work. Unless you have rollers I would say no.

Cough up the $5 a piece you cheap Sallys and go to Fisher’s.

In all seriousness if it’s anything like last year, which it is, I struggled to get my T-Pro off of my trailer at Malmo on the opener last year. I didn’t want to do that again.

    Critical-

We put in at Terry’s but there were tons of boats being put in at the public Garrison access so they should be deep enough. But Terry’s is tough to beat for $10.

I tried docs with my 620 and ran aground in front of the harbor. (All those behind me . . . your welcome for dredging a channel!!!) Let us know how everyone else did launching on the North End. I am wondering if I just missed the channel at docs?

I launched at Hunter’s Point on Saturday and Sunday. The launch was good and there was channel out into the lake if you stayed between the breakwater and the Red Bouy.

We launched out 18′ Starcraft at Cedar Creek, but it was barely touching water. We had to jerk/slide/push it off. We had plastic covers put on the bunks last year so it’s much, much easier to get on and off in shallow conditions. We were actually able to land it at our cabin even though the boat was still about a 8″ from touching water while trailed. All it takes is a little man power and good luck.

We are in deep, deep trouble if the lake gets any shallower anytime soon. We could barely get it up to our dock. We actually got stuck on sand a couple times but pushed our way through with oars. It’s not pretty no matter how you cut it. Ugh.

Put in at Garrison East today with wind out of the NNW. Alumacraft Dominator CS175 with no problems. I saw a few trucks/trailer combos with what looked like larger bunk style trailer.

Fishing was good, 2 man limit, and 4-5 big ones put back.
