Hi all. This is my first year w/ a boat and really my first year of learning to fish.
I’m planning to fish Mille Lacs at night for the first time on Saturday. Is it best to fish the flats during the afternoon and go to the rockpiles at night? If so, can anyone recommend which rockpile areas are generally the best and method to fish (bobber?)?

    Thank you!

I would caution against going out at night on Milly for the first time during your first year of boating! Have respect for this lake, she will bite you in the butt if you are not careful!

If you do make it out, the near shore rock piles and reefs can be hit and miss. But, you may find a good bite if the wind is right. Lighted slip bobber or trolling cranks would be your best bet.

    Good luck.
