It would be nice to think that the 8 hour rain yesterday did something,….but I’m guessing we’ve got another 28 inches to go

My rain gauge had 3/4 inch in it this am! Looking at the water marks on the dock and boat lift…its down 16+ inches. It is up about 5-6 inches from when the ice came off the harbor last week! Pray for more rains like what we just recieved

Yes, we need more rain to help raise the water level. Plus, there’s another advantage to having a lot of rain water run off…it will make the water cloudier and darker. Hopefully the shallow water bite will start earlier than it did last year.

I took a tour around the lake yesterday and it is still way down. The natives were able to use the Cedar Creek and North Garrison accesses but their boats were not very big and I didn’t stop to converse with them at all.

The Red Door had a backhoe sitting on a barge in their harbor, not sure if they dredged already or if it was done before. I talked to the owner of Docs Harbor and he had just came in from measuring his harbor, channel and out into the lake. He had 19″ of water out about 50′ past the end of the channel but past that there was a small sand bar that was around 16″ deep. He also said the lake is up about 6″ from the low point last fall.

Is the DNR supposed to be fixing up the Liberty Beach access? The public side of it is in BAD shape.

Looking at the mean over the last four years, it looks like the lake has been running about a foot low over the last month.

Here is a graph going back to 1990. Looks like the lake fluctuates quite a bit more than I thought. Great link Bob. Thanks, Adam
