Talking about footballs, The touchdown ball is the one that got away……….it was “really big” no fish story here either………that smallmoth was way bigger than any fish we had caught and put in the boat on this given night.

One good thing is I might know where it lives???

Did that monster that briefly showed itself ………………….. in that one spot …………………….. take a stab at giving you a BIG ??? Or was this bigger still……………in a different spot?

Hey Kid……..I’ll just say that when I saw it coming towards the net, I got excited!! I can’t believe the equipment that Norm wanted to use…….I know he will be using something different next trip.

Many people, including myself believe (and hope!!! ) that the next state record Smallie will come out of Mille Lacs within the next 1-3 years. It could certainly happen within the next 1-3 months or weeks!!! It’s a wonderfull time to be chasing SMB right now.

Please, please please let it be me!!

funny you should have mentioned that, but when Norm lost that smallie the other night I thought of that same thing…….

With the population of smallmouth that we now have growing here in Mille Lacs, who knows??? We can just wait and see…. I know one thing thats for sure is that Norm is sold on B-Fish-N tackle jigs and plastics. He placed his first order today. So if you are need of any new H20 jigs or plastics head to Westerlunds Citco and visit Norms Bait & Tackle on the NE corner of Mille Lacs at the junction of Highways 47/18 Malmo,Mn he should get his first shipment in the next few days!

The 2003 fishing reg book lists it as 8-0 out of West Battle Lake in Otter Tail Co.
I would not doubt that Mille Lacs may hold the next record. Fish that have been close were caught and released.

If I remember right, I think the Capra’s caught a close to state record smallie a couple of years ago. It went something like 7 10oz. A true huge fish. They also release it.
