The conditions are changing with the current weather. We had a sunny day Saturday, rain last night and rain again today!!! The ice depth is ok, in fact it’s near the 32-36inch mark. The problem areas are at the shoreline and trying to cross the pressure ridges. Saturday I had the opportunity to spend the morning fishing with Doug Ertl and Dickie from White Cap Inn!!!! we managed a few fish with the biggest around 3/4 lb. This trip may have been my last trip on the ice. We will have to see how the next few days effect the lake. This rain and warm temperature has really taken our snow cover down and will start to eat away the surface of the ice! It’s hard to believe that just two weeks ago we had resort plow trucks pushing 4′-5′ snow banks on lake roads!!!!

Thanks for posting the pics. I was just going to login and ask Nurselake if she could get me some pics to help calm the inner demons(I really need to go fishing).

Thanks for the report Bob. I had a chance to run up to the lake last night from 5-7 to get one last chance at some jumbo’s. As mentioned, the ice around the shorelines is starting to get pretty bad. We were able to find some fish during our short time out but I think that may have been the last trip of the season for me. I guess we now start counting the days until opener…

Be very careful on the south end. South of Spider, East of Lower Twin, Sat. AM There was an area of open water 100′ across. Not good for wheelers in the AM fog. I stayed clear but could catch someone not knowing of this spot. ………BB

That must be the reef off of Hazelglade that runs west to Lower Twin. Between Christmas and New Years I was up to our place and at that time it was still open. My whole life I have not seen that happen, but I have not seen that lake this low before with this little snow.

Fishing must have been slow, his horns were down.

From the looks of the HP webcam, I would the ice adventures on Mille Lacs are done for.

By the way, have the Packers taken over Hunter’s Point? Green and yellow?

Milly is looking pretty dark! Just saw a duck swim by in the harbor. (Web Cam) Won’t be long now. Can I change my ice out date guess?

I wouldn’t be able to frequent the place if that was true.

Saw 3 guys out about 300-400 yards out in Isle last night on my way up here. Looks like not everyone has given up for the year yet.

If it’s raining up there like down here, the ice is going to go bye, bye fast.
