DARN LEECHES

This is probably a stupid question, but how do you keep the leeches from tying themselves up in knots?? I was having a heck of a time this last weekend.

I had a heckuva time keeping them from rolling in my line when I would double hook my leech. Now I single hook just below the sucker. It seems to lessen the “death rolls”. Also, try and keep them in the water (live well, bait bucket, over the boat) this keeps them calm and less likely to wrap up (this have been my experience anyway).

If you have a baller on the line, replace him. You get a few in the bunch. It helps to keep them clean. If they are covered in slime, they need more frequent water changes.
