Uff-dah, good question. Depending on water temps by then there are a lot of answers to your question. The south end can be productive early in the year, Wahkon, Isle, and Cove Bays all hold fish. We try to key on new weed growth adjacent to depth or rocks. Another good area early is from Eddy’s all the way to the NW corner of Vineland Bay. Good weed growth typically happens early up there every year. But don’t forget Shaboshkung or Garrison bays either, good weeds and rock in both. Another thought to mix it up would be to troll. Not neccessarily on the structure (weeds, rocks, etc) but off of it. No mans land fish are a definite possibility as the water starts to warm. I use Indian Point as an example, consider trolling 200-300 yards off the stones out over 20-25 feet, the fish will migrate with the forage, and as perch and walleye move out, so do the muskies. One other idea to give a whirl would trolling North End Sand and night. Long line Top Raiders, Siligirls, MGs, or Cranks depending on your depth.
Basically fish the whole lake, when you find a pattern, let me know. LOL
