    Heads up!
we have a full moon this Saturday night! I think with the weather forecast for Saturday and the full moon.
My prediction is: “that the walleye will be jumping in the boat”……….

    Bobber,

Thanks for the heads up on the moon. I was planning on heading up early Sunday morning for a day on the water, but when I saw your post on the moon phase – I made a quick change of plans. After a little scrambling, I managed to find a spot to spend the nite and catch a few zzz’s after a hopefully successful night of fishing. I will be staying at Dickie’s.

I plan on chasing smallies for at least a few hours on Sunday and Know that the southeast side is a great place to target them – but I have not had much success with them in the past.

Any tips you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Good luck this weekend!!

Personally, I find little or no correlation with a Full Moon and a good or Big Fish bite this time of year. Actually, I have done poorly on full moon nights in the spring or early season. I have done much better on New Moon nights this time of year.

I do enjoy nite fishing this time of year however…..Dusk till dawn is a short 7.5 to 8 hours where you pretty much have the lake to yourself. No jet skis!!

Todd; I expect to be doing some smallie fishing in the same area this weekend. I would start just north of Dickies on all the reefs that are marked. Work up toward Big Point and you will see plenty of spots to try. Jon and I hit a couple of fish north of Hawkbill Point last weekend.
I have a blue Tyee , white Johnson and FTR decals on the sides. Maybe we will see each other Sunday?

    Dino,

Thanks for the tips. Are the reefs marked with buoys, or do you mean what’s marked on the map. I think they are one and the same, but I have not been on this part of the lake for about 2 years. I will be in a 19′ alumacraft with a pair of honda’s on the back. I think I was talking with you down on the dock at Everett’s last year after the get together, so you might recognize me. Hope to see you and if you get into them, point the fish toward my boat when you let them go!!

    Thanks again,

Mr Breeze: I hope you were able to find some fish. We had a decent mud bite going and went back out there early Sunday am. Let us know how your trip went.
