I am finally heading up tomorrow for my first ML outing of the year. This has been a strange year for me where a combo of good fishing on my “home” lake, a wedding, and a move has kept me away from Mille Lacs.

I plan to make up a little for the lost time with a full day on the water and maybe into the evening too. I’m going to be on Woman Lake the rest of the weekend but I’ll post my results when I get back.

It sounds like the worst of the bugs is behind us and the bite is improving. An improving bite puts the pressure on. Anyway… it has been fun to stay connected with Mille Lacs by reading the good info here.

Good luck fishing…..remember to look both shallow and deep for these darn walleye……I have had good luck both deep and shallow lately. And these east winds we have been having! I have caught fish with the wind out of the east, which is normally not the case.

Is it just me or have we had unusually more wind out of the east this summer?? Seems like everyday I’ve been out, except a couple, the wind blows from the southeasterly direction.

Yes, east-southeast a good number of days and southeast again today!
