Thanks for the report. I wish I would have read that before I went out today. We spent 5 hours early this morning on the mud. We hit 9, 7, the sliver, and the boot. The good news is that we marked fish on top, on the edge, and off in 35 feet of water. The bad news is that we got three bites and put one 19 incher in the boat. We were rigging with leeches and nightcrawlers.

On the drive home I figured out that I have caught 3 walleyes in about 40 hours on the big pond this year.
I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I have boated plenty of Mille Lacs walleyes, but this year it seems near impossible. What a difference a year makes.

    I’ll keep trying anyway.

BigFife……..I have also spent some time on the mud the past 7 days. I have found some schools of walleye that have been active. These fish are on the move, one time they are here and the next they are somewhere else. Moving around often….I think the bug hatchs have put plenty in their belly’s! This past week the rocks have been the ticket for us………next week it could be back on the mud?
    Thanks for the reply!

Just had to share this dock fishing action! Here it is the first week in June and my neighbors are still catching walleye off their docks! A few weeks ago this bite had died off and I thought it was over………well the walleye are moving around for sure. These fish are active just after sunset and up till dark. The slip bobber/leech combo has put fish in the net.

Last night three guys caught 13 fish between 14-18 inches, NOT BAD for sitting back and watching the cork for a while!

It’s a whirling column of water and spray from the water on the surface up to the clouds. (A tornado on water)
If you have never seen one, it’s pretty cool. It can be a very violent wind storm, one that you have need to be carefull with. Hook took some pictures of this one with his digital camera.
