I was wondering which areas allow you to camp on the lake. Headed up this weekend to pre-fish for a couple of tournements up there. Just me and the dog so I don’t want to spend lots of $$ on a hotel. Thanks

You want to get there as early as you can. They keep some sites open to “walk ins” on holiday weekends. But it’s not a guarantee.

You can also camp at the access in Waukon. I’ve also seen tents at the access by Garrison.

    Thanks Guys,
I’ll probably start out in the Vineland Bay area, then cut East and up to the North side. Lots of water to cover this weekend. Also does anyone want to give out what radio channel there on? I hate to be out there alone, if something goes wrong on the water. Shoot me a P.M. if this is possible.
    Thanks,

Hey, North Star Resort has a nice campground on the west side. I have stayed there several times. There are showers and the location is close to lots of good fishing. I believe it is only $15 per day plus a slip if you don’t want to launch each day.

Sorry, the local paper has a article today that the city of Wahkon has re-opened the city park for over night camping…..

Northstar is very nice but the rate is $25 per night and $6 to rent a slip. Very nice folks, great location, good fishing nearby, nice restrooms, pay showers! (we just didn’t take one!)… what more could a guy ask for. phone 320-532-4568 – good luck!
