Are you sure Bob wasn’t sleeping there. It looks like it.

    GENTLEMEN,
I JUST FOUND THIS SITE AND AM EXCITED ABOUT IT. I AM STARTING TO LEARN THE SOUTH END OF THE LAKE AND AM CURIOUS WHAT STRATEGIES YOU THINK MAY WORK THIS WEEKEND. I AM STAYING AT JERRY BRANDTS AND WILL PROBABLY LAUNCH OUT OF IZATYS. LAST YEAR I HAD LIMITED SUCCESS RIGGING VINELAND BAY AND SLIP BOBBERING SOUTH ROCK PILES AT NIGHT. I KNOW ONE NEEDS TO LEARN THERE OWN SPOTS, BUT WOULD APPRECIATE ANY GENERAL DIRECTION. THANKS EJ

Sounds like you are headed in the right direction. Rigging and Slip bobbering should be the way to go this weekend.

If you don’t already have one, a Tutt’s Walleye Wiffer map is invaluable. Most of the spots marked with GPS coordinates will have fish…and boats as well. These are great general areas to concentrate on. Don’t be afraid to check out some of the deeper gravel areas 19-27 feet during the day. Find them on your electronics, then fish em’

Good luck, and let us know how ya do.

Bob, did you happen to see an abundance of bait in your scouting?

Negative on small bait, I was thinking of stopping at the creek the other day as there was two bait guys seining minnows. Last year they did’nt get any Lake Shiners.

    Derek,

I did see quite a few perch when I was manning the camera, Bob had one swim into the lense.

    A few crayfish too.

Sounds like most bait shops have spot tail shiners, looks like they are coming back.. I did see alot of Perch fry in the harbors today.

I didnt have time to scan this year. I did last year and noticed they were on the break lines as well. 15 feet of water, water temp was 40. May 5th 2002. We saw many crawfish as well.
    Thanks for the info

You are correct sir. I will be at the shack about 5:00 tonight with a few others arriving for a long weekend.
I can’t say I like the way the weather is looking. Just will have to adapt to the situation. See you maybe tonight if you feel like having one or two during the Wild game.

Remember to cover the wood pile with a tarp…….We will need some dry wood to burn.
I think Didge is bringing over a bundle of slab wood friday afternoon sometime. I did some work for him Monday and talked about it!
