I was planning on walking out and fishing a bay on the west side tomorrow morning. I haven’t had a chance to get out yet this winter, but I won’t risk my life over a walleye. What do you guys think the ice will be like for a walker tomorrow morning? With all this snow will there still be a lot of water on top of the ice?

You’ll be fine. It will be a good “crunchy” safe hike. Plan for a COLD wind. Could be sunny too!

I’ll be out first thing in the AM. (S. end Steve ) Running by sled. 4 mile and Sloppy’s are still putting out nice fish. After about noon I’ll be heading about 5-6 miles North to check out a solid day bite I’ve been hearing about, and finishing the day back on the south end of the lake.

Unlike many others, I don’t mind these conditions so much. It keeps the lake a lot less crowded

    You’re learnin’ Jack. Yup–you’re learnin’.

Imagine it, Jack, like a north/south laying hockey rink. You gotta stay south of the red line–that runs from Big Point to Indian Point. That’s YOUR half the rink! lol

Happy New Year to YOU too!

I have a hard time thinking of any reason to go north of that line! (And Happy New Year to you my friend!)
