I took this picture of the shoreline just north of our house. As you can see the ice is starting to break away from the shore and is starting to move around some. With some rain in the extended forecast I think our ice here on Mille Lacs has it’s days numbered…….
Looks nice Bob, Just got off the phone with a resort on the east side, she had said there is still three feet of ice and we “would be lucky” to have the ice off by opener.

Yesterday I heard the frogs for the first time this spring! And today I saw a few fish in the creek spawning!
The Northerns are now spawning in the creek down the road, along with a few suckers that I saw some kids snagging. It won’t be long now and our walleyes will make their way up the creek and along the shallows in the main lake.
The northerns spawn first, followed by the walleyes and than the suckers invade the creeks near the end of april.
The reports are coming in that some crappies are being caught in the creek by the public landing in Isle! I heard second hand of some as big as 2lbs………. 
I’ll keep you all posted here on the ice conditions. As of today the area along shore has opened up alittle more with the warm sun and temperatures we have today. The weather is expected to change mid week with cold and the SNOW word again? High winds are also in the forecast…….I wonder which direction? With some wind I would expect the ice to start to pile along the points on the lake.

Is the harbor open yet? Need to burn my batteries down to see if there going to work another year. Have to get the boat out anyway this week.
Josh should be up wednesday night.
