Just received my yearly contract/bill from Liberty Beach and was informed that Frank, Joyce AND Marty have now retired from the ice business in addition to selling the bar/restaurant last year.
The new owner is Angler’s Paradise ….North (formerly known as Dickie’s Portside).

Was wondering if anyone has had experiences with these folks?

Also, has anyone else receive their bill yet? Was wondering how the $605 fee for a 10×20 shack compares to other resorts?
(also listed was a $150 season road pass and $10 daily fee)

Any word out yet as to how the resorts will handle wheeled houses this year?

    Thanks!

    Price Comparison
Don’t quote me exact prices but I have a 10 x 20 at Barnachles. $525 for the winter
However, I am moving to castaways and I believe they are $640 for the winter.
Of course, to get electricity will cost a little more at each place for the rest of the year.

I was in last night, and it is all true.

I would imagine that the increased fees are in place to get them out of the red. Sure is a nice bar. If they go under, Dman and I have plans for it.

What? Didn’t he talk to you about the dishwashing job?

Ask him to tell you what Sherry said…

I read in the Mille lacs Digest that the DNR bought the land for a public access?

Yep, that’s true. Liberty removed all the summer fishhouse sites to make way for the parking lot that will be used for the public access. Will be nice to have an access on the East side of the lake. This will likely benefit Tuck’s and Dman’s future bar and restaurant.

I think I’ll give George a call and see if he has room for my shack…..or maybe someone could convince Dickie at the Cap to open an ice business…..?

    Shhhhhh on the Tuck/Dman bar!

Mille Lacs County put the Ixnay on the storage of shacks across the hiway. That leaves Dickie and Frank out of the picture. I would say the Wharf or Hunters are the only game in town now. Well Agate if you go north a little. The DNR bought the land from Frank for the launch, and it has been free launching since last spring. It has been kept quiet because Liberty was still taking money to launch.
My question now is with the public launch there, how can Liberty charge to drive on this winter?

Mums the word on the bar…

I talked with George as well about he storage thing. He and others are wondering where the new Angler’s Paradise North will be storing the houses at the end of the season. They didn’t make mention of it on the contract.
With Anglers Paradise maintaining the roads originating out of the Liberty/new Public landing….you are right, how can they charge?
George also mentioned that it is very likely that he will be running the Perch Extravagenza next February.

That’s right, I forgot to mention that. George will be very busy this winter.
