Ok a little bit more info…we landed at Terry’s…good thing MNolds broke the ice for us!!! Thanks Phil!!! The harbor was completly iced up…in fact one boat left early cause you couldn’t troll in shallow cause the ice was fouling your lure…a couple of runs at 1/4 throttle changed that quickly though…. We had glass like conditions at sunset with a mild 30 degree air temp with lake temps at 36 degrees!!!! About a half hour after dark the lake started to roll really good. Making it very difficult to fish the productive waters effectively…I think this was the biggest factor on us blanking last night!!!! I could not hold a constant speed, water splashing on the rod tips causing them to freeze..Little things like this made it hard to keep the lure running correctly! I still believe that these fish are still in the same areas we have caught them this fall! Some of mother natures factors made for a tough evening of fish and a short night of fishing as well….if you can hit the lake yet this weekend with a slight breeze you should do just fine… Mnolds did manage to get 4 fish last night as well!!! We both ended the night at 9:30! I think that was my last trip for the fall! I hate to go out like that, but it still was a great fall bite on mille lacs for 2006!!! It was great to meet a lot of fellow IDAers on the pond this year and hope to see more of you on the ice this winter!!! Good luck!!!
OK thanks for the report. So it seems like this weekend would be still too cold to fish? What with the ice floating on the water screwing with the lures and with the rods? And Terry’s is iced up??
I drove by Terry’s yesterday morning and it had ice out about 30 yards from the launch. not sure how thick it is but I know tehre where people using it Friday night.
