It could have been worse. Got on the water just after 6 last night and fished til 12. Only had 7 fish to the boat, 3 eaters, 3 pic fish(Grow’s is questionable, but probably the biggest walleye of his life) and one 23 to end the night.

Can’t say we established any kind of a pattern other than rogues outfished HJ’s and the big baits did catch fish. We caught fish on every spot we tried, but just couldn’t find a consistent bite.

The tullibees are definitely up on the rocks as we shined the shallows they went scattering.

Here is our best fish of the night, 27+! Congrats Cal!!

One last comment. The water is cold!! I’m not sure on the temp, but I know when I had my armpit getting wet putting the plug in. IT WAS COLD!!

Note to self, “check the plug and warn your friends to check the plug for you”

    As she should Craig!!

Cal, the thumb is almost unusable with the BB scroll wheel. I’ve popped the blister multiple times today to relieve the pressure.

OK, story. I’m going to put up the whip antenna. I notice it’s a little loose. I grab my handy leatherman and tear into tighting it down. Snap, pinch, ^%((*&E, curse some more, go fishing. Loading the boat 6 hours later, tightening the tie down straps, snap, whack the other hand. Luckily I don’t use them much during the day being a computer jockey.

Hopefully we can get another trip in next week, but I’m not confident it’s gonna warm up now.

Hah…I have been seeing small perches in the shallows, but never seen the Tullis. Will try to look out for em.

Sometimes your short strikes can actually be your bait snagging tulipees.

It certainly was very cold as a friend of mine from a local fishing club and I launched my boat at Terry’s Boat Harbor last night at around 6 PM. Fishing was on the slow side for numbers of fish in St. Albans as we ended up with 7 walleyes and 3 northerns. Our biggest walleye was 26″ and we kept 3 eaters. Trolling speed was 1.1 mph or less and 6′ of water was our best depth. Never really had any moon all night as as soon as it came up it disappeared behind the thick cloud cover which certainly didn’t help us. We had difficulty putting together a consistent pattern for the night but we had a nice mini- flurry of activity between 1-2 AM in an area where it had been the “dead sea” earlier in the night. Tennessee Shad #12 Husky Jerks caught our larger fish and a Lazer Craw Rogue worked fairly well also. Had a total of 6-7 short hits also and tried #14 Husky Jerks a little with no luck. Unfortunateky it was my last trip to The Pond this year but I feel blessed to have spent 8 nights there fishing this Fall season. Thank you to everyone for posting there reports this Fall on this forum and good luck to anyone still heading up there this year! Dress warm!

Thanks for the report. Seems that the fishing is slowing down?? and #14 not working so well either huh? Well, lets now just hope for a quick ice out so that we can start ice fishing!!!!

    Nice fish.

Good thing your boots stayed dry or it would have been real cold out there.
