This past Saturday I had the opportunity to get out on Mille Lacs for some perch action. Well what do ya know…it had to be cold and windy AGAIN. I headed out to one of my spots and got setup. I had one bite in couple of hours and a few lookers of the Vexilar. I had two groups of fisherman stop by on their way in off the mud flats. Both groups were still looking for active fish, as they had no action in their previous stops. I packed up to move to another location and decided to get off the lake and out of the wind.
I would hope that we will get a weekend soon with nice weather. It might allow us to get out on the big pond a few more trips yet this winter? An improvement in weather might also turn the fish on?
The ice deepth is around 3 feet right now and I can just get through with the Jiffy. The lake has many snow drifts now with the snow and windy conditions the last few weeks.
