Given the current cold snap and the water already being 42, does anyone think the Nov bite will be very good. What temp do the tulibees(sp?) spawn?

I think I’m done til ice up, but you never know….

They spawn when the water temps are below 40. IMO, the Nov full moon bite should be good.

I would bet that the tulibee spawn will be minimal due to the HUGE die off this year!

I agree but it will be hard to gauge. And the population has been down the last 5 years.. Put on your biggest baits and hold on..

I predict a warm bed and many logs being sawed in november for me.

what section of the lake do the tulibees use to spawn.
I have never encountered a big population of spawners like you hear about.

Shallow gravel. They can be so thick you will actually snag them when trolling.

So true. Many times after snagging them they will shake off making you think you “lost another walleye”. So, if you are getting constenet taps/snags/shake offs, it’s probably not walleyes and time to move on.

42 degree water temp… I wish. I pulled our docks and my hoist on Sunday. The warmest the s.in l. could find when he was running the main and kicker motors was 39.4. This was in Wahkon bayand the wind had been blowing in.
I hate to say it but the marinas and bays will be frozen on Nov.5th.

BTW… I didn’t get out this last weekend. Hockey and the drizzle kept me in on FRri. Sat we had a wedding reception. I saw no boats on the lake from Izatys.
