Heard it is shallow outside of The Red Door.
    Exactly how shallow is it?

The first 50 to 100 yards is tough to get through for me. I have an 1850 crestliner with a 175 and I felt very fortunate not to have been stuck last weekend. Great resort so I hate to say anything negative. Smaller boats may still do alright. I would not attempt it with any sort of waves. In fact, I doubt I will go out of there any more this year…

I got stuck Sunday Night 10/15/2006. I drive a 620 Ranger. In the sunshine you can find a path or two to make it out, but at night its tough.

I’ve got a 16ft Lund with a 40. I don;t sit nearly as deep as some of you guys. So you say somewhere around 2 ft? I’m going to be staying there Fri and Sat. Spousal unit and Daughter are coming along so would like to fish North end so that if they get tired or whatever i can just drop them off and continue to fish.

Stayed there 10/08 to 10/13,water depth 0.9 Got out o.k. with my 1700 lund without any problems, friends 20ft crestliner got stuck 1st time out, after that was fine.Go straight out, tilt her up high and you should be fine. Then go left and fish the remaining weeds,we did pretty darn good, lots of 25s and a couple 29s.Beware of the muskies, they like those crankbaits in the early A.M.s Stuart

    Thanks for the info Stuart
That’s the depth I worked a couple of weeks ao on the South end. Using Clown HJ’s.
Looks like the low winds are going to be my saving grace this weekend. If it were to be windy I would have to cancel with the girls.
    Have a great day

Hey Clerance, My wife (a.k.a. The Better Half) and I are planning to launch from Red Door Friday and Saturday. You might remember that she put the first fish in the boat during the hurricane a few weeks ago on the south end. If you see a black and grey Alumacraft T-Pro pulled by a black Ram stop by and say hello and . Do you have a radio in your boat if you get stuck on the sand? If so I’ll be on 82.
