OK, I am sure that you are all sick and tired of seeing walleye but I will post a few pics with how we did this weekend. The bite was….great. Friday night we fished from 9PM to 3:30PM and Saturday we fish from 6pm to 6am. Our boat found that the best bite occured between 2 and 5am. (wish I would have known that Friday night) We were working the rocks in 3.5 to 8 FOW with Husky Jerks. Color on Friday night was Firetiger Husky jerks #12 hands down. Saturday night was green and gold and glass perch husky jerks. Trolling speed was 1.4 to 1.8 MPH with the occasional surge in speed which seemed to get them going in a lull. Hope everyone had the same luck. This was probably my last trip for this season so hope everyone continues on with good luck. Pictured here is my buddy with a 25″

Thanks, The waves were less than fun…
It was pretty hard to keep a line while trolling but when you could they were ready to eat. We ran about 65-75 feet of line out. At one point Sunday morning (about 4:30) we would be racing to get our lines back in the water because whoever got the reel locked first would have a fish. I have never seen anything like it. Lots of 23-24″ fish with the additional kicker of a nice one. There seems to be plenty of eaters ready to go on the HJ’s too.

I should also note that my dad and his buddy didn’t have much luck at all with the Husky Jerks so they went to about 12 FOW and used #7 deep diving shad raps and caught a lot of fish. They didn’t get the size but they had a lot in the 17-22/24″ range. Bent lips caught a few eaters for my boat too.

Yes the bite took off like gang busters, one of my buddies was ready to go in so I just had him sleep in the front of the boat , told him if they don’t start in an hour we would leave, well…..they started and he was happy we stayed.
