The walleye bite continues to be slow on most areas of the lake. The only reports of any numbers are coming from the mud flats. We read earlier of DeeZee putting a few fish on the ice. I have since heard of more reports from the 7 mile and 9 mile flats. Two guy’s caught around 30 walleye earlier this week on 9 mile with 11 fish falling in the 14-16 in.slot!

I need to kick this cold I have and get out and try these areas…….

Good luck and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    Bobber,

We saw some portables out on 9 mile last weekend while we were out there. My buddy informed me that they have been there everyday since christmas. Must be doing something over there as well. We wanted to try more areas but with the amount of fish we spotted on the flashers, it was so hard to leave. We were set up on a inside turn on the flat that seemed to congregate more fish as we scouted around the flat a bit to not find near as much activity.

    Good Luck to you.

    Hey Everybody,
Just thought I would share my results, was out New Years Day on a small flat on the west side, 5 of us caught 5, 3 overs and 2 unders, hard to say what method worked the best. We were fishing in 18′ to 23′ of water and our group also were amazed at the numbers of lookers on the flashers. Oh well, can’t catch any sitting on the couch. Good luck to everybody venturing out in the future, and Happy New Year!!
    Take Care,
